Audio Project Idea - Hoffman
I plan on using Google Voice for my audio project. Students are going to read a short play while speaking into the phone. The students will later listen to their play and voices once posted to our classroom blog. This will be shared with other groups.
I plan on having my students use Audacity to record which strategy they prefer to use on certain math problems.
Audio assignment
I used Google Voice as a checking for understanding activity.
Students had to create a quick google voice message that showed knowledge of cones and rods.
The students did not know everyone would listen to them. The best part was the text of the messages. None of it was correct!

Kindergarten in our garden
My plan is to have my kindergarteners record their voices on Photo Story to tell us about "our tree and the tulips we planted" in our garden.

Video Project Idea--Baumgartner
We will be starting our ecology unit in the next week. There are several topics about water and how water becomes polluted. We will do a powerpoint project about pollution and it's effects on the environment, especially water. The powerpoint will feature VOICEOVER, where the students record their voice, as well as, any audio they chose. Music, sounds, etc. This will give the students a chance to create a movie like project. I am also looking at a way to incorporate one of the video/audio resources discussed last time.
Audio Project Idea Nahlik
I was planning on having some of my struggling readers record themselves while reading with Audacity. They will then be able to replay their recording over to hear how they sound. They will be able to check for fluency and fluctuations.

Audio Johnston
My 2nd grade LEAPers in my Growing Up Wolf elective class will study wolf howls as a form of animal communication. They will listen to and view spectrographs of different wolf howls and be able to recognize changes in pitch as well as the length of a howl. They will then work with their pack (small group) to invent their own communication howls and record them using Audacity. They will then analyze the audacity spectrographs looking for changes in the pitch and in the length of their howls.

Audio Project Idea Kimker
I am going to use Google Voice for my audio project. I will have the students in one class call me to report on their satisfaction with their lab groups. They can tell me what problems they are having and whether or not they would like to have changes made regarding the composition of their groups. I think this will be a great way for students to give me information that they would not want to share in front of other students.

I will use Audacity in a lab on sound. I will have the students record a whistle in the microphone and then say the letter e into the microphone. They then can expand the wave form to look at the individual waves that create the sound. From that they can determine the frequency and period of the wave form

Audio Project Judy Girard
Students will record themselves presenting their "How to" project for the Product Demonstration unit of the Sales Manual. They will then reflect on how they did, with the customer perception in mind.
Audio Project Idea Galakatos
I would like to have students send me audio commenting on what they understand most/least about an upcoming unit. So far, I have only used Audioboo to add an audio explanation to a video post.
Audio Project Idea, Schneider
Six students, of various math abilities, will use Google Voice to record a read aloud of a math journal entry. Students will be prompted to write the steps of adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. Students will then listen to their audio play back.
Audio Project Idea Shoults
My Graphic Design students do a project with ECE. They pair up with ECE students and create a children's book for the student. To start off they interview the students about their favorite superheroes, books, movies, color, etc. to get to know them. Last year they interviewed them and wrote down their discussions. This year they are going to voice record their interviews with the students so they don't have to have any breaks in conversation to write down notes. I got this idea from a student in Pilot who interviewed me for a quote and she just used her cell phone to record. It was great because there were no awkward silences while she wrote anything down, we just kept talking like normal conversation. I will have students that have access to a cell phone or recorder use that. The students who do not, can use pen and paper. I may experiment with some online options since they will be using computers too.
