Hays Video
My reading classes created a photostory using the MAP concentration words for Communication Arts. They had great time and it was so easy to do!!!
Gordon Video
I had the students write new lyrics to a song of their group's choice to go with the branches of government. Then, they performed them for the class and I took a video with my iPhone then uploaded them to youtube. I really liked the project and so did the students. I would definitely do this project again. The only challenge I had was the students having to take a couple "tries" to get it perfect and I would turn the music down a little to be able to hear the kids singing. The kids love being youtube stars and love to see how many "views" they have.

Art Room Videos
As an introduction to our Egyptian Art unit, my second-graders watched this three-minute .National Geographic video about Ancient Egypt. The students learned how the people lived and why they made mummies, not just how they made them. By the time we were ready to begin plaster mummies, they had some background knowledge and visuals.
I also made an Animoto video to promote our annual Art Show. I am going to show it to the kids the week before and have the web address posted in our monthly newsletter.

In Art class at Kennerly, I recorded a student giving basic directions for a project we are finishing, weaving on a loom. I used google voice and it was very simple. I posted it with photos of projects on my blog:

Lueking Audio Project
My two social studies classes completed a research project on a famous African American. They found their information, filled out an outline, and eventually filled out a "Star" sheet to share with the class. A few of the students recorded their "Star" sheet information which could be used along with a picture to share with parents.

For my project the students did research on Famous African Americans. I set up a Google Voice account and they shared specific information about their person. They are so excited about recording their information. When everyone has finished I will post on my blog for parents to hear!!!

Student Created Videos
I had students bring in devices to film math movies. Students were put into groups of 3 (a filmer, a writer, and an explainer). I learned that movies must be less than 2 minutes to be e-mailed from an i PodTouch. I choose to do a movie, instead of just audio. I wanted students to see and hear the steps of long division.

Audio Project Idea- Gregory
For my audio project I am having 4th grade students demonstrate an understanding of the math vocabulary that we have learned this year. Each student will pick one of the words from our vocabulary board to give a definition and draw and example. The students are using their own devices to record each other. My goal is put together a video at the end with all of the words to show my future classes. Here is a sample of one of the videos.

Audio Project
My audio project was having my fourth graders call in to my Google Voice number and reflecting on their definition of the February character trait, courage. My message prompted them to explain what courage means to them and give an example of a time they have shown courage. The kids really loved that they could "call" their teacher... Their responses were so adorable and the students enjoyed hearing each others reflections/stories. I will also be posting these on my blog as well. This was a homework assignment, so I had a great turn-out of student participation. No major challenges--the translation on Google Voice is pretty terrible, but that is probably because it is a newer feature, so I turned it off. Also, I noticed that when trying to call the number from our school classroom phone, it doesn't work. Also, a couple kiddos forgot to turn the phone of so I heard a lot of dead noise before they realized they needed to end the phone call, but it was pretty funny actually. Overall, I would say this was a successful project. I am excited to use it again and incorporate it in different ways!

Laura Heller's Reflection
I used youtube to show an amazing sidewalk artist in San Fran, CA. The students went crazy over it and keep asking to watch it again.
My students enjoyed looking at Matisse's artworks using the elmo. I love how large I can make the images!
I will be exploring other websites that will enrich the projects we create in art.
Lisa Quinn's Reflection
I am learning to feel more comfortable using the technology in my classroom. I am using the elmo daily with my nonverbal students. This allows them to be engaged in the lesson. I am excited about finding different curriculum over the internet that I can use with them.
I am working on trying to find a grant that I can write where I can get two ipads for my nonverbal students. Our technology teacher in our school is working with me by giving me excellent ideas on how to use the ipad with them.
Laura Heller's Audio Project
My audio goal is to involve the students and have them talk about their artwork. I'll have to look at my lesson plans and decide which grade level and what project will work the best.
Lisa Quinn's Plan for Audio
I will use itunes with my younger students in my classroom as a following direction activity as well as in a social group setting. They will listen to music where they have to follow along with the song. Itunes will also be used for a calming affect for students who may need help desclating when upset. I am hoping to be able to record some of the students voices so that they can hear how they sound and we can work on developing their articulation.

Creech Plan
I set up a Google Voice number and account. I plan to record students singing and post it to my blog using Google Voice.
Hays Audio Project
I would like to use Photostory but not sure for what subject!
Mikolajczak Audio Assignment
I plan to use audio to either have students give their opinions on famous works of art or to critique their own artworks, then embed the audio on my blog with visuals. I need to evaluate which one of these options would work best with my upcoming curriculum.
Christina's Audio Goal
My goal is to have students model a long division problem, and use audio (google voice) to explain the steps of the problem. I will post it on the blog.
