I posted four websites (BrainPop, Tagxedo, Starfall, Inference Riddles) on my private classroom blog so the students can come into my classroom and click on an appropriate website for them to practice while waiting for their entire group to arrive. I have a cross/categorical classroom, so most of the students come and go all day long. The students love to have control over their time while waiting to begin a new lesson, even for a few minutes. Due to confidentiality issues of students, I cannot post my link, which is private.
One student brought in his new ipad and shared this with different groups, and he gave me a lesson on what all an ipad can do. We have been using several phones to take pictures of items included in lessons and sharing the results using ELMO.
I plan on adding more websites to our classroom blog for the students to access. I just had my LINC installed, so my students and I are planning on investigating all the uses available to use to include additional means of incorporating technology into our classroom. We will continue to take pictures on our phones to help share with others. The students enjoy this activity using phones because several have taken pictures at home to bring in to share.
