I had a student write the new post when he had a surprise return visitor for lunch. My student's father returned from Afghanistan and surprised him at lunch. I took a picture of them at lunch and afterwards the student wrote the new post to accompany the picture. With assistance, I helped him do the writing and I took a picture of his writing. His father shared that he was able to follow what we were doing in the classroom by following our blog.
I have not had student devices come into the classroom yet.
In the future I will encourage students to write Blog entries to give them a purpose for using their writing.
