I used my blog (that is linked to my classroom facebook page) to notify parents about upcoming classroom activities, field trips, and concerts. I also post pictures and information about classroom activities and concerts that have taken place. I would like to use this blog to interact more with my students, providing them a place to post reflections or post surveys.
I have not used student devices yet. I just got an iphone for Christmas and am learning how to find and install good apps for music class. Last week, I shared three apps with my students that I thought were good for learning to read music, play piano, and guitar at the elementary level.
I will ask students to bring in their devices next week to play music games with the younger students and do composer research projects with the older students.
