What is one new thing you tried with your public portal? Please post a link to your public portal in your post.

I have linked my blog and Facebook page. I have also added a Yahoo Media player to my blog which has allowed video and audio files to play seamlessly. It has been great for kids to be able to see and hear other students work directly from my blog. I have also started out the school  year having students respond to a question after doing group brainstorming and watching 1 or 2 videos. Their responses were much better and I was able to get increased feedback.  Check out my blog HERE

What is one new thing you tried using student devices?

I have done a QR code scavenger hunt around my building. The kids have loved it.

Based upon what you tried, how will you use this in the future?

I am trying to do a better job of balancing social media, computer applications, technology and group work. Even though much of my curriculum can be just sitting and 'doing,' kids still love to get up and move about and collaborate. By doing a QR code scavenger hunt or having students respond individually after a group effort has engaged both the students and me much more.
